# Chris Wright

Chris Wright is the US Secretary of Energy, confirmed in February 2025, and the former chief executive of oilfield-services company Liberty Energy. He has been an outspoken advocate of fossil-fuel expansion and 'energy dominance,' and a critic of net-zero targets, which he argues raise costs and threaten reliability. As secretary he reoriented DOE toward fossil fuels and nuclear and cancelled billions in clean-energy grants.
