# Daniel Noboa ## Identity and office Daniel Noboa has been president of Ecuador since 23 November 2023 and in a full term since 24 May 2025. As of September 2026 he remains president. He does not sit as the Constitutional Court. He is not a Bukele saint. On 8–9 January 2024 Fito escaped and gunmen seized TC Televisión in Guayaquil during a live broadcast. On 9 January Noboa declared an internal armed conflict and ordered the armed forces to neutralize 22 designated groups. Reuters recorded the same week. Fito remains an unresolved name, not a Person. The Constitutional Court repeatedly found that he had not substantiated an internal armed conflict and still allowed emergency measures to stand. IACHR later issued precautionary measures on alleged forced disappearances and prison health. Quote those findings. On 21 April 2024 a referendum approved nine security measures, including a formal armed-forces role in public security and extradition of Ecuadorians, and rejected two economic questions.
