# Hassan Sheikh Mohamud

## Identity and office

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been president of Somalia since 15 May 2022. He remains commander at apply, with a disputed term clock since May 2026. He does not write an AUSSOM resolution.

Do not open with a donor brochure. The ballot file is official. Parliament elected him 214–110 on 15 May 2022 ([Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/somalias-new-president-be-elected-by-parliament-behind-barricades-2022-05-15/); [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-61438047)). He was sworn immediately. Farmaajo is unresolved.

The war file is operations without a unique size. This page does not invent KIA. Al-Shabaab leaders are not minted as Person.

## Documented benefits

Taking districts from Al-Shabaab can be stored with dates. They are not a unique recovered-district size and not a rebate of the hangar runoff.

## Contributions and limits of responsibility

He won the runoff and was sworn. SNA executes. AUSSOM neighbours. Sharing execution is not a reason to drop 15 May 2022. It is a reason not to invent KIA.

## Causal chain through facts

The 2022 runoff strengthens the owned Al-Shabaab-and-federalism driver and weakens electoral integrity relative to universal suffrage. They do not hang on ukraine-war, eastern-drc-m23-rdf, [territorial-revisionism](/drivers/territorial-revisionism), or Soviet [state-repression](/drivers/state-repression).

## What the score does not say

This page does not promise an exact KIA census. Direction is not forced. Criticism-first living-ruler impacts pull negative unless documented constructive acts dominate. A later genuine one-person-one-vote contest would be a different fact with a different date.
