# João Lourenço

## Identity and office

João Lourenço has been president of Angola since 26 September 2017. He remains commander. He does not write a Luanda Provincial Court order. He did dismiss the Sonangol chair.

Do not open with a new-dawn speech. The ballot file is official. CNE proclaimed MPLA 51.17 percent on 29 August 2022 ([Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/angolas-president-mpla-party-declared-winner-election-2022-08-29/)). UNITA recorded a parallel count that put UNITA slightly ahead. The Constitutional Court dismissed UNITA’s complaint on 8 September 2022 ([Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/angolan-court-rejects-election-results-complaint-opposition-calls-protests-2022-09-08/)). Adalberto Costa Júnior is unresolved.

The oil file is dated. On 15 November 2017 he removed Isabel dos Santos from Sonangol ([ICIJ](https://www.icij.org/investigations/luanda-leaks/how-africas-richest-woman-exploited-family-ties-shell-companies-and-inside-deals-to-build-an-empire/)). On 23 December 2019 the Luanda Provincial Court froze Angolan accounts and stakes ([Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/article/world/angola-hits-princess-dos-santos-with-asset-freeze-idUSKBN1YZ0IA/)). The court’s “more than $1 billion” is allegation-grade. It is not Contribution.size. Isabel is unresolved.

## Documented benefits

The offsets that a commissioned-positive portrait would lead with are real only where dated. Removing a predecessor’s daughter from Sonangol is a completed personnel act. It is not a rebate of 29 August 2022.

He dismissed the Sonangol chair. He ran as MPLA head of list and was certified. CNE tabulated. The Court wrote. Sharing tabulation is not a reason to drop 29 August 2022. It is a reason not to invent a unique fraud integer.
