# Sergey Naryshkin

## Identity and office

Sergey Naryshkin has been director of the Foreign Intelligence Service since 5 October 2016. The SVR director sits on the Security Council. He does not write presidential decrees. Alexander Bortnikov, the FSB director, is named as an unresolved intel-vertical counterpart. This run does not mint him.
