The World Justice Project (WJP) is an independent, non-profit organisation working to advance the rule of law internationally. Founded in 2006, it conducts research, develops data, and supports a global network of practitioners across disciplines and countries. The WJP is best known for its annual Rule of Law Index, which ranks and scores countries across dimensions such as constraints on government powers, absence of corruption, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, and civil and criminal justice. The index draws on surveys of households and legal experts. The organisation produces measurement and analysis to inform policy and public understanding; it is not a governmental body and does not exercise legal or enforcement authority.
