Government of Hungary

The Government of Hungary is the executive authority of Hungary, a parliamentary republic and member of the European Union. It is led by the Prime Minister and a cabinet accountable to the National Assembly, the country's unicameral parliament. The government administers national policy across domestic and foreign affairs, including border control, asylum, and migration. Since the mid-2010s it has adopted measures associated with restricting irregular migration, including physical border barriers and changes to asylum procedures, some of which have been the subject of legal proceedings before EU institutions and the Court of Justice of the European Union. These policies and the associated rulings are matters of public record, and their interpretation varies among observers.
