National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela

Venezuela’s 2017 National Constituent Assembly was created outside the opposition-controlled legislature and operated until 2020. It assumed sweeping powers, sidelined parliament and helped consolidate Nicolás Maduro’s control over state institutions.
