The Life of Aesop, in modern editions, narrates bodily humiliation as comedy. There is no privacy statute in the sixth century BCE; the harm path is later publication of a grotesque body as the author’s identity.

Context

Anachronistic privacy language is refused. The stored harm is the modern continued printing of deformity-as-character for a possibly legendary slave.

Aesop is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.

Why it matters

A novelised body is not a medical record. It is still a dignity cost in later classrooms.
