On 13 October 2026 the BBC asked a federal court in Florida to compel President Donald Trump to sit for a deposition in the $10 billion lawsuit he brought against it. The motion said that nearly eight months into discovery, after seven depositions of BBC witnesses and with about two months of discovery remaining, the BBC still had no firm date to question the plaintiff.
