Context
Editing mission reports is shared authorship. SEP and the Akademie-Ausgabe independently place Novissima Sinica in his China file. Later Orientalist criticism is reception.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz’s documented role is bounded by other offices and collaborators named in the sources below.
Conventional years are 1646–1716. Surviving public files are GWLB Nachlass pages, the Akademie-Ausgabe, SEP, and encyclopedias. Leibniz did not typeset those later pages. Later electronic computers are not this life.

What the sources establish
SEP and the Akademie-Ausgabe portal independently describe Leibniz’s role in Novissima Sinica (1697).
Established: he prefaced/edited Novissima Sinica in 1697. Not established: that Beijing policy changed because of the preface.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz did not file a later UNESCO form, a later Loeb colophon, or a later museum label as a personal act. Novissima Sinica is not the Bouvet letter alone. Keep the 1697 volume off 1701.
