PVV repeatedly tabled bills to ban mosques, Islamic schools, and the Quran. They did not pass. Tabling is a completed legislative-demand act, not an enacted ban.
Wilders and a PVV colleague introduced an initiative bill seeking to define Islam as a violent totalitarian ideology and prohibit mosques, Islamic schools, printing, selling and distributing the Quran, and certain forms of religious dress. The Dutch Council of State’s advice, reproduced with the parliamentary record, found fundamental objections and described the proposal as incompatible with core constitutional and treaty protections including equality, non-discrimination, freedom of religion, expression and education. The proposal did not become the law described in its text, so the harm is recorded as a legislative attempt and political program rather than an implemented nationwide ban.
