In November 2022 László Palkovics resigned as Minister of Technology and Industry; his ministry was abolished and a new Energy Ministry under Csaba Lantos was created. Chief of staff Gergely Gulyás announced the change on 14 November, saying the abolished ministry's tasks would be split among other ministries and the energy ministry would start on 1 December.
