First, a 2024 re-election. On 19 May 2024 he won a first-round second term. Competitors conceded. That is a completed transfer. It does not rebate October.

Second, a quota. On 2 October 2024 the government announced immediate operations to repatriate up to 10,000 Haitians a week. AP recorded nearly 11,000 in the first week. Haitian UN language called it ethnic cleansing. Store both as neighbouring speech.

Third, a wall. Concrete began in 2022–23. By August 2026 officials cited about 55 kilometres, shown to Asfura. Store the tour.

Identity and office

Luis Abinader has been president of the Dominican Republic since 16 August 2020. He won a first-round second term on 19 May 2024. As of September 2026 he remains in office. Leonel Fernández is named as an unresolved person candidate. This run does not mint a page for him.

He is not an anti-graft saint. Human-rights groups called the Haiti-border file racist. Haiti’s UN representative described the October 2024 operations as an “ethnic cleansing strategy” (El País (opens in a new tab)). Store that neighbouring speech.

On 2 October 2024 his government announced a seven-measure plan to repatriate up to 10,000 Haitians a week, citing an “excess” of migrants and limited results from the Kenya-led Haiti mission (Diario Libre (opens in a new tab)). AP recorded nearly 11,000 deported or repatriated in the first week (AP, 8 October 2024 (opens in a new tab)). NYT later recorded cage-truck imagery. DGM printed more than 276,000 deportations for 2024. Store the plan and the prints.

The wall, begun with a 2022 concrete pour he publicised, was shown to Honduras’s Nasry Asfura on 30 August 2026 with about 55 kilometres cited. Asfura remains unresolved. Haitian counterparts remain unresolved. This run does not mint them.

Documented benefits
