Printed Vita and later handbooks record Aesop killed at Delphi as a scapegoat

Aesop is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. In the causal graph this event weakens Humanitarian Access, a driver that strengthens People Internally Displaced by Conflict and Violence (IDMC) — an improving welfare path.

The received Life has Delphians plant a cup, condemn Aesop, and throw him from a cliff. Modern handbooks repeat the tale as tradition, not as a coroner’s file. Dated via modern Vita editions.

Context

Sacred lynching in a tourist sanctuary is a welfare-relevant story even as fiction, because it was taught as Aesop’s end. Confidence on the killing itself stays low.

Aesop is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.
