On 14 March 1875 the Bank Act established the Reichsbank as the Empire’s central note-issuing bank, opening in 1876. Bismarck’s government put the bill through after the founding-era boom and the 1873 crash. This is a banking statute, not the gold-mark coinage of 1871 and not a later Bundesbank building tour.

Context

Private Notenbanken still existed with limits. National Liberals and Prussian financial officials drafted. Bimetallism fights continued. Fiscal capacity here is a lender of the Empire, not a welfare state. Social insurance is later.

Later competitions, monuments, translations, UNESCO listings, museums, and adaptations are not converted into extra lifetime acts.

What the sources establish

The Bundesbank’s official history pages independently recount the Reichsbank’s 1875/76 creation. DHM independently describes Kaiserreich banking. GHDI holds related financial laws. The official and independent URLs differ.

Established: a 1875 Bank Act created the Reichsbank under Bismarck’s government. Not established: that he designed discount rates, or a unique inflation series.

Shared responsibility is part of The Bank Act creates the Reichsbank. Naming Otto von Bismarck does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 1875-03-14 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.

That reading is an impact-path choice, not a property stored on the Fact itself.
