On 7 July 2024 France held the second round of the snap legislative election called after the 9 June European vote. Jordan Bardella had been the National Rally’s designated candidate for prime minister. Interior labels put the New Popular Front first in seats, Ensemble second, and RN third. RN’s own label is 125 seats; the allied UXD label is 17. Media totals for an RN-allied bloc sit around 142 and are not stored as a unique integer beyond those Interior labels. He did not become prime minister. He called republican-front withdrawals a disgraceful alliance.
Context
He was party president and designated prime minister. He is not a deputy-counter at the Interior. Seat-classification differences between Interior nuances and media blocs are contested.
7 July 2024 second round; Interior labels; uncompleted Matignon bid. Stored as one 7 July 2024 Fact. Keep Snap legislative second round: designated Matignon candidate; Interior labels put RN third in seats on 2024-07-07 separate from neighbouring 5 November 2022 congress, 9 June 2024 European list, 7 July 2024 legislative second round, and 8 September 2025 confidence vote.
The RN president can bind the party, head a European list, designate a Matignon candidate, and instruct a parliamentary group. He does not sit as the Interior ministry that publishes results, as the Assemblée that records a confidence vote, as a judge in the European-assistants case, or as the president who dissolves the Assembly. A 31.37 percent list score is not authorship of every later government. Sharing a ticket with Marine Le Pen is not a reason to drop 5 November 2022.
