In 1817 Hegel published Enzyklopädie der philosophischen Wissenschaften im Grundrisse, the Heidelberg compendium that outlined logic, nature, and spirit as a student-facing system. He wrote a Grundriss for hearers; the shop sold it. The row stores one data-and-teaching object. Later expansions are reception of this skeleton. Logic 1812–16 is the long architecture; this 1817 book is the student outline, not the 1821 Right.

Context

A Grundriss is a knowledge-record: numbered paragraphs others can annotate. That is why the path is data as well as school. Heidelberg students were the first public. Berlin would enlarge the same skeleton. A compendium that later became a party object is still a 1817 shop book.

Shared responsibility is part of Hegel publishes the Encyclopaedia of the Philosophical Sciences at Heidelberg. Naming Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 1817-01-01 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.

Why it matters

High confidence on 1817. Modest-to-medium weight. Philosophy of Right remains a restoration-coloured political book on another date. Phenomenology remains 1807.

What the sources establish

Heidelberg University is the institutional home of the 1817 outline. SEP independently dates the Encyclopaedia’s first edition to Heidelberg 1817 and treats it as the system’s public skeleton. Official: https://www.uni-heidelberg.de/en (opens in a new tab). Independent: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/hegel/ (opens in a new tab). The records establish 1817 print. They do not establish a unique later system-citation series. Philosophy of Right is not this Grundriss; posthumous lecture books are not 1817. A contradictory first-edition year would change the row.

Established: Hegel published the Encyclopaedia outline in 1817 at Heidelberg. Not established: that 1821 Right is this book, or that later lecture volumes are 1817. A missing 1817 edition would change the row. A showing of no 1817 edition would change the row.

Later competitions, monuments, translations, UNESCO listings, museums, and adaptations are not converted into extra lifetime acts.

If a number is not in the two records named above, it is not supplied here.

Confidence is stated on the impact path, not hidden in adjectives. Mixed effects of Hegel publishes the Encyclopaedia of the Philosophical Sciences at Heidelberg are separate paths.

That reading is an impact-path choice, not a property stored on the Fact itself.
