On 19 July 2018 the Knesset enacted Basic Law: Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People, with Netanyahu as prime minister.

Context

The law demoted Arabic’s status and declared Jewish settlement a national value. Druze and Arab MKs protested. Neighbouring embassy opening is a different 2018 file. He did not sit as a High Court justice.

The Jerusalem embassy opening is a different date the same year. Smotrich 2023 is a later settlement-administration instrument.
