Jules Quicherat’s edition of the condemnation and rehabilitation trials enters public scholarship

From 1841 Jules Quicherat’s Procès de condamnation et de réhabilitation de Jeanne d’Arc put the trial texts into a standard printed scholarly series. This catalog uses that later public carrier because a 1431 file cabinet is not the object here. In the causal graph this event strengthens Digital Learning Access, a driver that weakens Learning Poverty Rate (low- and middle-income countries) — an improving welfare path.

Context

National historiography wanted a usable Maid. An edition can serve nationalism and can still be a knowledge instrument. The nationalist statue is a different worsening row.

Joan of Arc is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.

Why it matters

Knowledge-access path. High confidence on the edition’s existence.

An edition is not a burning. Keep 1431 on its own path.

The trial identity is hers. The 1841–49 printed edition is Quicherat’s and the historical society’s.
