On 28 June 2023 Viktor Orbán nominated Bence Tuzson, then a state secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, to succeed Judit Varga as Hungary's justice minister. Tuzson, then working as a state secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, was sworn in as justice minister the following month, in July 2023, replacing Varga.
