In the 1900s Edison publicised and patented methods for pouring a house in a single concrete operation, promising cheap fireproof dwellings. Few were built. The scheme is a dated housing-industrial instrument that failed as mass policy.

Context

Urban fire and tenement reform were real. A patented mould is not a housing authority. Henry Ford later admired Edison; that admiration is not a housing series.

Thomas Edison is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.
