Around 1899 Edison organised Portland cement production using long rotary kilns, aiming at cheaper concrete for houses, stadiums and industrial floors. Yankee Stadium’s later use of Edison cement is a reception, not this organisation date.

Context

Ore-milling machinery was reused. Concrete houses were promoted and mostly failed as a mass product. Cement as a commodity had more success than the poured house scheme.

Thomas Edison is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.
