On 30 July 1891 Tesla, aged 35, became a naturalised citizen of the United States. It is a civic instrument, not a motor.

Context

He had immigrated in 1884. Citizenship is stored because later U.S. patent, medal and wartime-paper files treat him as an American inventor-engineer. It is not a claim that naturalisation caused Niagara.

Nikola Tesla is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.

Why it matters

Civic-membership path. High confidence on the year; low on public-welfare weight.

A certificate is not a generating station. Keep the weight low.

Who was responsible

Contribution type and responsibility level for each recorded actor — not sole-author shorthand.

He applied and took the oath. The United States issued the certificate; he did not write nationality law.
