In 2007 the James Lind Library issued Nasser, Tibi and Savage-Smith’s commentary on Canon rules for testing simples: identity of the drug, testing in the natural state, and related conditions. Avicenna did not file a 2007 protocol. The rules are a received heading for later trial talk, not a randomised-trial statute.
Context
Rules on paper do not staff a regulator. High confidence on the 2007 publication and on the Canon passage as transmitted.
Avicenna is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.
