On 11 August 2024 Bangladesh’s new council of advisers issued its first official statement noting attacks on religious minorities with grave concern and saying it would sit with representative bodies. Attacks on Hindu homes, businesses and temples had begun as Sheikh Hasina fled on 5 August, before Yunus took office. Human Rights Watch recorded them on 8 August. He did not order the attacks. Defendant headcounts are contested and are not supplied as Contribution.size.

Context

Sheikh Hasina is unresolved. A later temple visit on 13 August is neighbouring.

Attacks from 5 August; HRW 8 August; cabinet statement 11 August. Store the 11 August statement as his instrument after taking office. Keep Interim cabinet states grave concern at attacks on religious minorities on 2024-08-11 separate from neighbouring 1 January 2024 labour-court sentence (acquitted 7 August), 8 August 2024 CA oath, 11 August 2024 cabinet minority statement, and 17 February 2026 handover.

Bangladesh’s chief adviser in 2024–26 headed an extra-constitutional interim cabinet after Hasina fled. He does not write Indian extradition decisions, ICT judgments as a judge, IMF board minutes, or Grameen’s 1983 ordinance a second time. He did not order the 5 August 2024 attacks that began before his oath. A Nobel lecture is not a gazette. A student protest is not a statute.

What the sources establish

Cabinet Division of Bangladesh carries the official instrument or communique. Al Jazeera records the same dated act independently.

Established: An 11 August 2024 cabinet statement of grave concern, independently recorded; HRW had recorded the attacks on 8 August.

Not established: That he ordered the attacks, or a unique death integer as Contribution.size.

He did not order the 5 August attacks. Police after 8 August sat under the interim.. A later repeal, court stay, or successor order would be a different Fact with a different date. That pair identifies Interim cabinet states grave concern at attacks on religious minorities, not a later speech about Interim cabinet states grave concern at attacks on religious minorities.

Co-authors and later implementers named in Context remain on the file. If a later repeal, stay, or successor instrument exists, it needs its own date and its own row. The contribution described on this Person row is limited to He chaired the council that issued the statement. He did not order the 5 August attacks. That limit is the alternative to treating office-holding as authorship of every later series.
