Navajivan publishes the book form of The Story of My Experiments with Truth

In 1927 the Gujarati and then English book of Gandhi’s autobiography, serialised from 1925 in Navajivan, was issued as The Story of My Experiments with Truth. It is a source, not a sworn affidavit for every later controversy.

Context

An autobiography can increase access to a political method and can also control the file. Later editors and translators share labour.

Mahatma Gandhi is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.

A memoir is not the Collected Works in full. Sex-experiment rows use later documentation, not this volume alone.
