After the Tusk coalition replaced PiS in late 2023, Justice Minister Adam Bodnar unveiled an Action Plan to restore the rule of law in February 2024, beginning reversal of contested judicial reforms; on 29 May 2024 the European Commission closed the Article 7(1) TEU procedure against Poland, concluding there was no longer a clear risk of a serious breach.
