On 24 July 2024 OCCRP and subsequent Kenyan reporting detailed Adani Group’s proposal to lease Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for thirty years, a procurement that had advanced under the Kenya Airports Authority while a related KETRACO transmission PPP also moved. Ruto had earlier called some reports fake news.

Context

KAA and KETRACO sat under ministries in his Cabinet. Courts later paused parts. US prosecutors later indicted Adani executives on other-country bribery. He did not sign a completed JKIA lease.
