On 19 November 2022 GE15 returned a hung Dewan Rakyat. Anwar’s Pakatan Harapan took 82 of 222 seats, the largest bloc, short of 112. Perikatan took 73, BN 30. The 24 November appointment is a child.
Context
SPR canvassed. No coalition held 112 on the night. The King later appointed. He did not sit as SPR.
Oath 24 November is the child completing act. Confidence 19 December is a later majority row.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia advises the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, chairs Cabinet, and is appointed under Articles 40 and 43 of the Federal Constitution. He does not write Bank Negara Malaysia policy rates, does not sit as every state menteri besar, and does not author a United States or China statute. A 1999–2018 prosecution or pardon cluster is not a 2023 subsidy. Allegation is not a completed personal conviction unless a court so held. As of 27 August 2026 he remains prime minister.
Why it matters
The path is democratic resilience: a completed federal contest without a single-coalition majority records ordinary rotation under the Constitution.

What the sources establish
Election Commission of Malaysia carries the official instrument or communique. Reuters records the same dated act independently.
Established: 19 November 2022 PH 82-seat plurality in a hung parliament, independently reported.
Not established: that 112 uniquely sat that night, or a unique later subsidy coefficient from polling day.
SPR canvassed. He led Pakatan. Rival coalitions held the rest.. A later repeal, court stay, or successor order would be a different Fact with a different date. That pair identifies Pakatan Harapan wins the most seats in a hung 15th general election, not a later speech about Pakatan Harapan wins the most seats in a hung 15th general election.
Co-authors and later implementers named in Context remain on the file. If a later repeal, stay, or successor instrument exists, it needs its own date and its own row. The contribution described on this Person row is limited to Voters chose. SPR canvassed. He led Pakatan. Rival coalitions held the rest. That limit is the alternative to treating office-holding as authorship of every later series.
