In July 1937 the Spanish pavilion presented Guernica to the Paris exposition public as part of the Republic’s case.

Context

A world’s fair is not a ballot. It is still public speech against a bombing. Later tours for refugee funds are a further humanitarian row.

Pablo Picasso is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.

Why it matters

Public-speech path. High confidence on 1937 display.

A pavilion is not a museum in Madrid. 1992 is later.
