Context
Urban disaster under a princeps is both a welfare event and a rumour machine (did Nero sing?). Later opera and films are not 116.
That reading is an impact-path choice, not a property stored on the Fact itself.
Why it matters
A portable Great Fire is a displacement path. Medium-high confidence on a large 64 fire; the fraction of the city and the emperor’s guilt remain argued. Later tourism of ‘Nero’s fire’ is reception.
Shared responsibility is part of Annals 15 narrates the Great Fire of Rome in 64, housing loss, and Nero’s rebuilding as a public disaster file. Naming Tacitus does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 0116-01-01 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.

What the sources establish
LacusCurtius Annals 15 is the public English. Britannica independently treats the fire as a Neronian event known through Tacitus among others. Latin Library Annals 15 is the Latin. No unique insula register is supplied.
Established: Annals fire narrative as his. Not established: a unique hectare total, or that Nero ordered the lighting. Conventional Annals date. Not 64 as his magistracy.
If a number is not in the two records named above, it is not supplied here.
Later competitions, monuments, translations, UNESCO listings, museums, and adaptations are not converted into extra lifetime acts.
Confidence is stated on the impact path, not hidden in adjectives. Mixed effects of Annals 15 narrates the Great Fire of Rome in 64, housing loss, and Nero’s rebuilding as a public disaster file are separate paths.
