In 67 CE Nero gave Vespasian the Judaean war after Cestius’s failure. Josephus prints Galilean campaigns including Jotapata. It is not the 70 capture of Jerusalem as a sole Vespasianic act.
Context
Josephus’s Jewish War and Britannica independently date the 67 appointment. Josephus himself is prisoner then client, stored as a careful related-person edge, not as a simple colleague.
Vespasian’s documented role is bounded by other offices and collaborators named in the sources below.
Conventional years are 9–79 CE. Surviving public files are later Suetonius, Tacitus, Josephus, coins, and encyclopedia pages. Vespasian did not typeset those later English pages. Dates here are received historical years.
