On 18 March 2024 the Senate passed the Paid Parental Leave Amendment (More Support for Working Families) Bill. It received Royal Assent on 20 March 2024 as Act No. 7 of 2024, commencing 26 March 2024. The scheme adds two weeks a year toward 26 weeks by July 2026, with larger reserved ‘use it or lose it’ blocks. Superannuation on PPL was a neighbour announcement.
