Nancy G. Siraisi’s Avicenna in Renaissance Italy, issued by Princeton University Press in 1987, is a completed scholarly instrument showing that Latin Canon books remained obligatory teaching matter in Italian faculties into the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The dated carrier is the 1987 monograph. Avicenna did not sit a Padua board. Lock-in is the welfare path: one medieval encyclopedia as the gate of a medical degree.

Context

Print access and curricular monopoly are twins. The 1473–1544 folios sit on access rows.

Avicenna is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name. Shared work with courts, excavators, printers, spouses, officials, and later states does not erase a documented role, and it does not make an ancient person the signer of a twentieth-century statute.
