In 1565 Filippo Bruno, from Nola, entered the Dominican convent of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples, taking the name Giordano and beginning the scholastic and memory training the order provided to novices. It is not the later flight of 1576, not the 1584 dialogues, and not Campo de’ Fiori. The order taught; he learned. The row stores one educational door. Later conflicts that closed teaching posts are other dates. A novice who would later attack Aristotelian school-theology still walked through this door first.
Context
Neapolitan Dominican houses were a real university-adjacent school: logic, Aquinas, memory palaces. Education here is that syllabus, not a claim that the Inquisition was already the classroom. Nicholas of Cusa and Copernican readings belong to later years as influences, not as 1565 enrolment. A school that later hunted him can still have been, in 1565, an education instrument. Mixed later fruits have other dates. Aquinas and memory palaces are the syllabus; infinite worlds are not yet the novice’s public, and Campo de’ Fiori is not this habit.
If a number is not in the two records named above, it is not supplied here.
Why it matters
Improving education path: systematic religious-philosophical training. High confidence on the entry year. Modest weight. Later flight, trial, and execution are other signs. Memory treatises of the 1580s are later public versions of skills begun here.
Later competitions, monuments, translations, UNESCO listings, museums, and adaptations are not converted into extra lifetime acts.

What the sources establish
Naples University’s public English home locates the city’s learned Dominican world. SEP independently dates Bruno’s Dominican entry at San Domenico Maggiore in 1565 and the Naples formation. Official: https://www.unina.it/en/home (opens in a new tab). Independent: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/bruno/ (opens in a new tab). Britannica and the Catholic Encyclopedia are finding aids with different later angles. The records establish 1565 entry. They do not establish a unique later literacy series. A novice roll without 1565 would change the row; 1600 is not this habit. A contradictory novice roll without 1565 would change the row.
Established: Bruno entered the Naples Dominicans in 1565 and took the name Giordano. Not established: that he already taught infinite worlds as a novice, or that 1600 is this enrolment. A showing he never took the habit would change the row. A later Campo statue would not.
That reading is an impact-path choice, not a property stored on the Fact itself.
Confidence is stated on the impact path, not hidden in adjectives. Dominican entry is not the 1600 execution and not a later statue. Mixed effects of Bruno enters the Dominican order in Naples are separate paths.
Shared responsibility is part of Bruno enters the Dominican order in Naples. Naming Giordano Bruno does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 1565-06-15 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.
