On 19 August 2015, while Lee Jae-myung was Seongnam mayor, the Daejang-dong public-private urban-development operator was selected — the dated core of a later corruption controversy. Private developers including Kim Man-bae were later convicted in a first-instance 31 October 2025 cluster; prosecutors in November 2025 declined to appeal some acquittals that weakened the official-to-private link. Lee was indicted on breach-of-trust and conflict-of-interest counts; his own criminal trial was later suspended after the presidency. It is not a completed unique conviction of Lee.
