On 1 May 2025 the Supreme Court of Korea en banc overturned the Seoul High Court’s 26 March 2025 acquittal of Lee Jae-myung on Public Official Election Act false-statement counts (golf and Baekhyeon-dong) and remanded with instructions to find guilt. Sentencing was not completed before the 3 June election.
