On 1 July 2025 Malaysia expanded SST to more non-essential goods and to new services (leasing, construction, some financial, private healthcare and education), after June MOF revisions that exempted some fruits and beauty services and raised some thresholds. Anwar later told Parliament delay would jeopardise about RM5 billion of 2025 H2 revenue.
