On 2 July 2019 the National Assembly adopted Act LXVIII of 2019, creating the Eötvös Loránd Research Network and transferring the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' research institutes out of Academy self-government. Nature and other independent outlets recorded a loss of academic autonomy. This Fact is that dated statute. It is not Lex CEU, not the 2021 university-foundation act taken alone, and not a personality. Official text sits in the National Legal Database; Nature's contemporaneous file is the independent record.
