On 10 February 2015 Malaysia’s Federal Court unanimously upheld Anwar’s sodomy conviction and five-year sentence, sending him immediately to Sungai Buloh. He maintained innocence and called the bench partners in a political conspiracy.

Context

The High Court had acquitted in 2012; the Court of Appeal reversed in 2014. UN rights officials and several governments criticised the ruling. He did not sit as the Federal Court. Najib’s government rejected interference claims.
