Context
First reading sat in November 2024. Unlimited re-election already sat from 2014. She was already vice-president. She did not sit as every deputy. Daniel Ortega remains the live counterpart.
2014 term-limit abolition is parent. 18 February 2025 entry into force is a child of this vote. 1 September 2026 is a later first reading. Keep National Assembly gives final approval to co-presidency and a six-year term on 2025-01-30 separate from neighbouring 7 November 2021 CSE night, 6 April 2022 Law 1115, 19 August 2024 Acuerdo 38, 30 January 2025 co-presidency reform, and 1 September 2026 first-reading seven-year vote.
The co-president of Nicaragua is head of state and, under the 2025 text, coordinates other organs and sits as supreme command of the army, police and Interior. She can announce constitutional reforms and midday communiqués. She does not sit as a CSE teller, a Managua trial judge, or every Interior clerk who stamps an NGO cancellation.
Why it matters

What the sources establish
National Assembly of Nicaragua carries the official instrument or communique. Reuters records the same dated act independently.
Established: The Assembly approved co-presidency and a six-year term on 30 January 2025; in force 18 February; she became co-president under the text.
Not established: A unique later succession coefficient from that afternoon, or that the 2026 first reading is this same vote.
The 2025 text named co-presidents. She assumed the new title on entry into force.. A later repeal, court stay, or successor order would be a different Fact with a different date. That pair identifies National Assembly gives final approval to co-presidency and a six-year term, not a later speech about National Assembly gives final approval to co-presidency and a six-year term.
Co-authors and later implementers named in Context remain on the file. If a later repeal, stay, or successor instrument exists, it needs its own date and its own row. The contribution described on this Person row is limited to The FSLN Assembly voted unanimously. The 2025 text named co-presidents. That limit is the alternative to treating office-holding as authorship of every later series.
