On 11 April 2023 Myanmar’s air force struck a gathering at Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing, during a community opening. The Secretary-General condemned the attack and called for those responsible to be held accountable. Junta spokesmen said they had carried out a precision strike on People’s Defence Force stores. Early UN and AP reports spoke of at least about 100 dead; later local and NUG figures ran higher. Those are estimates.
