Editorial assessment (context, not the score)

The Pichai years are not a Chrome saint’s life and not a single monopoly cartoon. The heaviest documented costs are Mehta’s 2024 search-monopoly finding and 2025 remedies, the 2025 EU ad-tech fine, DMA listing, Maven then a 2026 Pentagon Gemini deal after a 2025 principles rollback, Dragonfly, the 2018 walkout, 2023 layoffs, and Gemini’s 2024 image failure. Those rest on opinions, Commission texts, 10-Ks, and labour reporting. The live composite is formula output from those paths plus Chrome, Android, Pixel, TPUs, and Gemini 3; this paragraph is not the score.

The offsets are dated. A 2008 browser, 2015 CEO appointment, TPU, and 2025 Gemini 3 are completed instruments. DeepMind, YouTube, and the board share several files. He does not sit as Judge Mehta and he does not write a CAC statute. Confidence is high on opinions and 8-Ks, and medium where raters, Play reviewers, and later model versions sit between a keynote and a welfare indicator.

Expert analysis

An excerpt; the full analysis opens on request.

What the CEO actually runs

Sundar Pichai has been Google CEO since 10 August 2015 and Alphabet CEO since 3 December 2019. He can ship a model into Search, set default deals, and sign climate pages. He cannot write a D.D.C. opinion or a Foxconn hour. Page and Brin remain different persons.

Costs on the record

US v. Google liability on 5 August 2024 is a completed Section 2 finding: Google is a monopolist and acted as one. Remedies 2 September 2025 barred exclusive defaults without ordering a Chrome sale. The 5 September 2025 EU ad-tech fine is a completed Commission money judgment. DMA designation 2023 listed Google as gatekeeper. Project Maven 2018 and the 2026 Pentagon Gemini deal after a 2025 principles rollback are completed defence-AI instruments. Dragonfly is a completed China-search attempt. The 2018 walkout and 2023 layoffs are completed labour files. Gemini images 2024 is a completed product-failure cluster. Stadia shutdown and Australia news 2021 are completed market instruments.

Gains on the record

Chrome 2008, Android leadership, 2015 CEO, Pixel, TPU, AI Principles 2018, Alphabet CEO 2019, Fitbit, Workspace in COVID, Gemini 3 2025, and I/O 2026 are completed product-and-office instruments.

Official carriers include DOJ/PACER, EUR-Lex and Commission press, Alphabet 10-Ks, Google blog/I/O, and Reuters.

Shared files and limits

The score does not say that every search query rebates a 2024 opinion. It does not say that a 2018 PDF is a 2026 weapons ban. It does not convert a remedies opinion that kept Chrome into a completed breakup. Related people are Nadella, Cook, Huang, Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos, Altman, Trump, Biden, von der Leyen, Vestager, Modi.

A CEO is powerful enough to own those 10-Ks and those opinions. He is not powerful enough to be the unique author of YouTube’s recommender or of a D.D.C. clerk. Keep 2008 and 2024 on separate dates. If those distinctions feel pedantic, they are the alternative to an I/O keynote and the alternative to a cartoon.

Mehta 2024 is liability; Mehta 2025 is remedies without a Chrome sale. Maven 2018 is not Pentagon 2026. Dragonfly is not GDPR. A 12,000-person layoff is not a unique US unemployment series. Official pages used here include DOJ, Commission, SEC, and blog.google.

Chrome 2008 is not Mehta 2024. TPU 2016 is not Gemini images 2024. Fitbit closed; Stadia died. Australia’s news code is not the DMA. The 2018 walkout is not the 2025 contractor cut. A CEO is powerful enough to own those opinions and those 8-Ks. He is not powerful enough to be Judge Mehta, a CAC official, or AlphaFold’s unique author. Keep 2008 and 2026 on separate dates.
