Net harmfulFormula-derived score

Country is United States, not Taiwan as a passport of office. The largest negative contribution to the formula-derived score is “NVIDIA’s 10-K records extreme foundry concentration at TSMC” (2024). The largest positive offset is “BIS imposes October 2022 advanced-compute export controls affecting NVIDIA” (2022).

Editorial assessment (context, not the score)

The Huang years are not a CUDA saint’s life and not a single China-chip cartoon. The heaviest documented costs are the blocked ARM bid, BIS China throttles he then lobbied to reopen, CUDA-ecosystem concentration under inquiry, French and US antitrust scrutiny, H20/H200 bargaining with a revenue-share to Washington, and AI-era energy and grid load that TSMC and hyperscalers share. Those rest on FTC filings, BIS rules, GTC transcripts, 10-Ks, and regulator communiqués. The live composite is formula output from those paths plus GeForce, CUDA, H100/Blackwell, DOE machines, and Texas assembly; this paragraph is not the score.

The offsets are dated. A 1993 founding, 2006 CUDA, 2024 Blackwell, and 2026 Fort Worth line are completed instruments. TSMC, Wistron, and hyperscalers share several files. He does not sit as a BIS licensing officer and he does not write a Taichung night-shift roster. Confidence is high on founding, IPO, GTC, and FTC/BIS texts, and medium where fabricators, cloud buyers, and later smuggling cases sit between a keynote and a welfare indicator.

Expert analysis

What the CEO actually runs

Jensen Huang has been NVIDIA CEO since the 1993 founding. He can ship a GPU generation, set CUDA terms, and walk a White House. He cannot write a BIS Entity List or a TSMC environmental permit.

Costs on the record

The 2022 ARM termination after an FTC suit is a completed blocked vertical. BIS October 2022 and October 2023 China controls are completed licence instruments he later bargained. The French 2024 market study and DOJ 2024 subpoena are scrutiny, not convictions. Crypto-era energy and RTX shortage are completed consumer-and-grid files. H20 lobbying 2025 and H200 revenue-share 2025 are completed export-bargain instruments. CAC H20 ban is Beijing’s later no. Greenpeace Taipei 2026 records supply-chain emissions pressure; a cake is not a unique ppm.

Gains on the record

1993 founding, 1999 IPO, GeForce 256, Xbox NV2A, CUDA 2006, Volta 2017, A100 2020, Mellanox close, H100-era GTC, Blackwell 2024, DOE machines 2025, and Wistron Texas 2026 are completed industrial instruments. A supercomputer for DOE is not a unique arsenal coefficient as his personal tally. TSMC still fabricates.

Official carriers include NVIDIA IR and GTC, SEC 10-Ks, FTC, BIS/Federal Register, EUR-Lex-adjacent national authorities, DOE, and Reuters.

Shared files and limits

The score does not say that every Taiwan kWh is a GTC slide. It does not say that CUDA is a completed US monopoly judgment. It does not convert a smuggling indictment of other named defendants into Huang’s conviction. Related people are Nadella, Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos, Ellison, Altman, Cook, Pichai, Trump, Biden, von der Leyen, Xi.

A CEO is powerful enough to own those GTC launches and those BIS bargains. He is not powerful enough to be the unique author of TSMC or of a French hearing officer. Keep 1993 and 2026 on separate dates. If those distinctions feel pedantic, they are the alternative to a leather-jacket keynote and the alternative to a cartoon.

BIS controls and H20 waivers are different dates. ARM blocked is not Blackwell. Greenpeace’s cake is not a completed grid statute. Third-party export-control cases remain other people’s dockets. Official pages used here include NVIDIA, SEC, FTC, BIS, DOE, and Reuters.

The 1993 partnership is not a 2024 subpoena. GeForce 256 is not an H200 licence. Xbox NV2A is not a DOE machine. Mellanox closed; ARM did not. October 2022 and October 2023 are two Federal Register pages. July 2025 H20 bargaining and September 2025 CAC’s no are two capitals. A founder-CEO is powerful enough to own those GTC slides and those White House visits. He is not powerful enough to be Taipower, TSMC’s night shift, or a French rapporteur. Keep 1993 and 2026 on separate dates.
